Lead Physiotherapist and Clinical Pilates Instructor

Rowan has over 20 years’ experience as a Chartered Physiotherapist in both the NHS and the private sector. She specialises in teaching Pilates on equipment from beginners through to advanced.

Rowan worked for a number of years at Addenbrooke’s Hospital as Senior Physiotherapist in Outpatients, Rheumatology and the Sports Injuries Clinic before moving into private practice. She has been teaching Pilates since she trained with APPI in 2012 and reformer Pilates since completing the comprehensive training programme with Polestar in 2018.

Rowan sees patients on a 1:1 basis on both mat and studio equipment (Reformer, Tower, Combo chair and Cadillac). Rowan also has a background in Women’s Health Physiotherapy and is trained to teach clinical Pilates to women during pregnancy and in the postnatal period.

Rowan has a Masters degree in Orthopaedic Medicine and regularly lectures at the London Royal Hospital for the Society of Musculoskeletal Medicine in advanced physiotherapy techniques. She often combines hands on techniques with corrective exercises to improve outcomes for the long term and to give people confidence to move even if they are injured, unwell or in pain.

As well as offering 1:1 Clinical Pilates sessions, Rowan also teaches the advanced class on our online timetable. She’s very approachable, friendly and it’s been said that “you walk out of one of her classes feeling like you’ve had a massage”.
